A beautiful scarf for a lover of green, multiple shades of rich greens ~ from olives to dark ~ with dusky blues ( not as bright as they may seem on your screen).
This has been dyed with an abundance of hibiscus flowers which grow here locally.
I collect the dead flowers practically all year round but the best are always during the hot summer months.
When freshly dyed the silk is full of pinks and purples but once they come into contact with the water the pH changes them to greens, greys or blues.
Like all of my scarves this has been slowly dyed up on my roof using only the sun as a heat source, slowly and patiently letting nature do its work.
Obviously the scarf is unique.
It measures 45cm x 176cm (18” x 69”).
Pure silk with hand rolled edges.
The scarf can be washed in cool water and ironed. I usually iron on medium heat while the silk is still a little damp.
